Losing your keys, wallet, backpack, or another important item can be frustrating. If you have attached an Apple AirTag to it, you can use Apple’s Find My app to check where it was last detected and get directions to its location.

If Find My indicates that the battery needs attention, replace it with a compatible CR2032 battery according to Apple’s instructions.
After replacing the battery, give the AirTag some time to reconnect and then check Find My again.
Why Your AirTag Location May Not Be Real-Time
One important thing to understand is that an AirTag does not work like a GPS tracker with its own cellular connection.
Its location can be updated through Bluetooth and Apple’s Find My network. When the AirTag is away from your iPhone, nearby Apple devices can help detect it and securely relay its approximate location to the Find My network.
